Pre-Fabricated Concrete Coal Bunker
Wow.
The Bonzo Dog Band is reuniting for a tour this November. I'm actually excited about this. I made a lot of enemies for liking this band in high school because they are certainly an acquired taste. However if you like Monty Python, it's not a difficult jump to make. In fact there was much cross-pollination and interplay between the two.
I found their albums in my uncle's record collection and immediately fell in love with them. Their quirky British humor backed up with excellent musicianship and impressive studio prowess sold me from the first track of their first album "Gorilla" released in 1966. Each subsequent album got better and better as they experimented more and more. Sadly, by 1970 the fun was over. Yes, there was a contractually obligated reunion album in 1972, but I never really liked that one as much as the first four releases.
And now they are back.
Unfortunately, at this point it looks to be limited to the UK. I wonder if they could be persuaded to come stateside? What would that take... some letter writing campaign? Hmmmmm. Interesting.
